Michael O’Connor

SEET Director

Appointed: 3 April 2006

Michael is the Divisional Secretary of the Construction Forestry Maritime Mining & Energy Union – Manufacturing Division and has held this position since late 2005. He has been with the union for over 30 years, commencing work as a Union Organiser in 1985.

Currently Michael is a director of the following:

  • First Super (Co-Chair) – Director since 2008, prior to which he was a Director of TISS (First Super’s predecessor) from 2006 to 2008
  • Industry Super Australia
  • Responsible Wood
  • NEST

Leo Skourdoumbis

Leo is the Senior National Assistant Secretary of the CFMEU Manufacturing Division.

Trevor Smith

Appointed: 28 April 2020

Trevor Smith is an experienced independent Director with vast knowledge and experience in Industrial Relations and Industry Development.

Trevor was a State Union Official for the Forest & Wood Products Industry 1974-1983 and the National Secretary of the Forestry & Furnishing Products Division of the CFMEU 1983-2006, as well as the role of National President of the CFMEU 1991-2006.

Trevor has extensive governance experience, Chairing numerous boards and committees including the TISS and FIRST Superannuation boards and key industry bodies such as the South East Forestry Partnership Program (SEFPP) and the South East Forest Industry Roundtable.

Trevor chaired the national Industry Skills Council (FAFPESC / ForestWorks) for the Forestry, Furnishing & Pulp & Paper products industries 1983-2006.  He led two international tri-partite missions to Singapore, British Columbia, USA, Sweden and Denmark to bench mark Australia regarding skill needs, training, vocational recognition and accreditation in a global context producing two reports ‘The Way Forward’ (1889) and The Way Forward – Progressing Change’(1991).  These reports were subsequently adopted by industry bodies, Federal and State Governments incorporating recommendations and industry development strategies that have been implemented during the last two decades.

David Goodear

Appointed: 17 July 2023

Mr Goodear holds a Bachelor of Economics degree and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Australia and New Zealand). Mr Goodear has been employed in the financial services industry since graduating from university in a variety of high-level professional roles for over twenty-five years. Most recently he was the Chief Executive Officer of Super Benefits Administration Pty Ltd. In this role he was responsible for the administration of an industry super fund, First Super, in addition to the administration and financial reporting for SEET.
